Aaliyah Comes Back to Life in Chris Brown’s ‘Don’t Think They Know’

In his new "Don't Think They Know" music video, R&B crooner Chris Brown resurrects a familiar face in digital form. The late singer Aaliyah, who died in 2001 in a airplane crash, appears several times as a projection beside a dancing Brown.

Aaliyah's appearance, which is reminiscent of the 2012 Coachella music festival performance in which the deceased Tupac Shakur performed as a life-sized hologram, marks yet another instance in which her vocals and now her figure have been used posthumously

The "Don't Think They Know" video tells the story of rival gangs setting aside their differences. The digital Aaliyah first appears briefly at the 2:28 mark before re-emerging a few more times. The song is from Brown's upcoming X album, which comes out July 16. Read more...
